Five Points
Call me a ‘small town girl’ if you want, I don’t care… Because I know that at this time, many large cities are trying to preserve what we have, the same character, that of a small town.
I never lived in a bucolic and quiet place like this. I always lived in, not large, but ENORMOUS metropolises. But I don’t have anything to do with the past, I live in the now, and I think it’s silly to keep the past in the future.
Mas com o passado, eu nao tenho nada a ver, eu vivo o agora, e acho que so’ bobos guardam o passado no futuro.
I like the historic charm, atmosphere and feeling of “small town”, and at the same time, the sophistication of having two colleges nearby.
I have met many happy people here…
Especially now with the addition of the new beach, we get a new square in the center of the city with a beautiful pavilion for concerts and presentations, fountains, beautiful gardens and more.

Remember the movie with Jim Carey, “The Majestic”?

The trees are newly planted, still getting accomodated… Remember that we are at the end of winter, when everything is dry.

Of course, it’s an economic development strategy for the area, but the people expressed strong interest in improving the appearance of historic downtown.

The name Five Points comes from the fact that the place was once the meeting of five streets.

The City Council will announce the schedule of events and my curiosity is UP.

I have heard also that the city will get a gateway entrance, another additional strategy that will identify Main street as an area of special interest — in this case, the antique shops.
I consider this place a healthy place to live.

What an amazing blog!
I love your positivity and enthusiasm of La Porte and life in general. I am a native resident of the area and am so happy to see a bright perspective on the recent improvements to our community.
Keep up the great writing!
