Diamonds For Free
If you like to work the earth as I do, you will LOVE to know:
Here, in the city of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, is the only diamond mine, in the WORLD that is open to the public!
There, you can pan the precious stones, and finding them you can keep them!

Just go to the “Crater of Diamonds State Park,” where more than 75,000 diamonds have been discovered since 1906.
The first person who found one, sold the diamond for $ 36,000. He was a farmer, who became known as “The King of Diamonds” (John Wesley Huddleston), but he died poor, because of poor choices in life.
The park entrance is free, and you only have to pay $7 (adults) and $4 (children), if you want to mine.

Last month, 30 people found diamonds there.
And a siren wails, every time someone finds a gem…
Do not forget to bring old shoes or boots, hat and sunscreen… If it is raining be prepared to find mud, of course.

And the necessary tools.
Or rent on site.

You can camp out too, but the camp grounds is now undergoing improvements, which should finish in the middle of summer (June-July).
On this site you can see a long list of photos and description of them. http://www.mindat.org/gallery.php?loc=14088
GOOD LUCK.
