I’m Going to Have to Make Some Changes
Some details here on this blog…
For example, for those of you who do not follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Orkut or the Forum of my town… know that:
I PASSED ON THE AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP EXAM ! ![]()
Now, I’m not only part of those who have dual citizenship in the realm of disease and in the realm of health.
On this July 4th, I’ll have one more reason to celebrate American Independence, because…
As of yesterday, my patriotic heart beats: half red, white and blue and half green, blue and yellow.

Yes! I don’t lose my Brazilian citizenship.
But know that, actually, I’ve always felt that the a person’s country, is not a piece of land here or there, much less is it where there are mountains, rivers, deserts or whatever geography it may present. It is a principle and patriotism is loyalty to that principle.
And I am and always will be: very proud of my Brazilian heritage.

And it was very difficult to study to be U.S. a citizen during a World Cup.
But, as I said before: where there is freedom, that’s where my country is.
Now that I know, the amount of blood that was shed for the Bill of Rights, (Citizens’ Rights)… being American means to me, being safe.
My favorite thing about the United States?
Many Americans in America !
And thank you to those who wished me, “Never wake up from the American Dream”!

As my sister said, “half Brazilian, is better than nothing.”
