America With Me

‘Mother with lots of practice …’

A bit of teacher, a little friend…

Someone with great wisdom, but also … ‘pre-historic’. ;-)

Today I felt like: a truly happy grandma ‘!

This wonderful thing of three years, nothing more nothing less, is called: AMERICA.

Meanwhile, her family was cutting trees in my backyard.

I was delighted with my new friend America, learning to speak, mixing Spanish and English.

Soo cute!!

America 1

Essa coisinha doce e temperada no meu dia, nao parecia ver 7 maravilhas neste mundo,…mas sim 7 MILHOES de maravilhas dentro da minha casa! :-)

Even if she spends her days watching her mother, cutting trees, doing gardening and cleaning houses, America showed an politeness, consideration and generosity that made me want to start life again!

I tried to teach her a little, but I think it was she who taught and what life is for me,

A simply wonderful child

Speaking of starting life, my neighbors, have these ‘bouquets trees’ …

And they are what I want now.

Someone here know the name …?

And tell me, and what’s a home without children …?

Quiet.

Here is the formerly shy America, the first time I saw her in October last year.

Well Hidden Problem

I always give good advice, but the truth is that: we should have put this advice in practice this before the BIG, DIRTY and EXPENSIVE problem appeared.

We should have cut down the large tall trees around the house, so that their roots would not ruin our pipeline.

This was how my porch was until the day before yesterday…

Pay attention: I do not want to please my friends… I want to HELP.

So don’t get shocked by the photos below.

My porch TODAY.
encan.1

Dirt, more dirt, more dirt, more mud, a large tunnel and lots of mess.

encan.2

Roots broke the pipe, went into it, as well as all the possible dirt imaginable.

ALL clogged up! Urghhsss ..

Are you still in doubt?

That is Chris who made the tunnel underneath the back porch, a tunnel so big that the Chris himself disappeared inside.

He said, it was cooler down there. :-)

Believe it now? ;-)

They (Chris and 3 other helpers) worked all day digging and digging and digging until they found the reason for the problem. Pecan tree roots that have infiltrated there.

Large roots were cut, but you can still see small ones. And according to my neighbor who understands much about them, pecans trees are those that have shallowest roots.

Not someday. Don’t procrastinate, folks.

The best way to do something is to get STARTED.

Start thinking, planning and saving if necessary, because besides damaging the house underneath, as you can see, they often fall on top of your property, which happens not only during hurricane season.

Cut the tall old trees around the house.

Guess who’s coming to make an estimate today…? ;-)

Special Necessities

After the game yesterday, it was time to do some exercise, burn calories at least some acquired ‘emotionally’… First with the tension, then… with the happiness of VITORIA! :-)

While walking, I seriously noticed, one of the benefits of where I live.

On every corner …

HANDI1

Ramps for people who have special needs or use a wheelchair.

HANDI1A

Or for older people, aware that they need to exercise, but have difficulty climbing down the stairs.

HANDI2

With the inconvenience of walking under the heat of Texas in June, at least …

HANDI3

Every few steps, I had something to remember to be grateful for.

Since Silent gratitude is not worth it for anything anyway

I show it to you.

HANDIMAIL

Besides the ramps that you saw on the corner, here in America, if you use a wheelchair, you just press this button to open the doors in commercial and public establishments.

The above, is in front of the Post Office where I live.

We had so much to be thankful for, most of all, we were able to run on the beach! ;-)

And we still have the sea breeze to refresh us.

All close to home.

Want to change your life?

Try gratitude.

I guarantee it works powerfully.

Wherever You Are

Happy Father’s Day, Father.

(Yes here it’s Father’s Day in June)

I hope you know how deep my love, respect and admiration is for what you did and gave to me.

(Life is short, much too short. Hold tight to those you love and enjoy them while you can).
