Before you jump right into strong, expensive medication with serious side effects…
Some of these herbs have been used for many years.
Of course, you have to check with your doctor.
♥ BUTTERBUR - instead of Zyrtec – I use Butterbur for my allergies. It is an anti-inflammatory (it has Petasina) and doesn’t make me dizzy. Actually, I have Zyrtec at home, along with many others for this evil… But they stay there, totally unused, because Butterbur really works.

♥ VALERIAN - instead of Vallium – I have used Valerian for several years. I stop when I want and startup again when I need it. It’s not addictive, relieves anxiety, insomnia, doesn’t make you dizzy, groggy, nutty or cause amnesia. Nobody likes the smell, but this root not only helps the nervous system and high blood pressure, but 23 other common health problems.
It also eased the ‘separation anxiety’ that my beagle had a strong problem with for several years.

♥ ST. JOHN’S WORT – instead of Zoloft – for depression. - This herb is comparable to Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft, according to 29 studies and doesn’t cause the nausea or insomnia. But it is only recommended for mild or moderate depression.

♥ ARTICHOKE – Instead of Lipitor – It has been proven that artichoke extract is as effective as statins, commonly used to lower levels of cholesterol. The difference is that the artichoke has no health risk.

♥ TURMERIC - Instead of Celebrex – for pain relief. You can buy pills or put in your food. Curry, Turmeric or Curcumin, works exactly the same way as Celebrex, which blocks the enzyme from arthritic pain and swelling. It also helps the adrenal glands to release natural cortisone.

♥ BLACK COHOSH – Instead of HRT – Hormone Replacement Therapy. The plant has isoflavones, which mimic estrogen, balancing the hormones in your body. This herb relieves symptoms of menopause as well as HRT (declares Dr. C.W. Randolph of the Natural Hormone Institute of America).

♥ GINGER - Instead of Dramamine – For motion sickness and nausea. You can take pills, put it in food or tea. Researchers say it reduces 95% of morning sickness during pregnancy. The root has components that increase the enzymes in the stomach and calming ‘gingerol’ that blocks the vomiting reflex in the body.

All the above, are easily found in health food stores, and if you have doubts about the dosage, just follow the directions on the package.
