News from the Dentist
I didn’t quite believe it, so I had him confirm it:
“If you’re going to chew gum, choose a sugarless gum that has xylitol, a natural sugar alcohol that helps prevent cavities.”
Another thing he told me to pass along:
“For all treatments recommended, ask your dentist WHY. Listen and see if it makes sense. You should understand the basis of the treatment.”
Paying without insurance:
Check prices in your area using your ZIP CODE: http://healthcarebluebook.com/
If your budget small, the local health department helps you find FREE treatment or paying what you can.
Look for the Community Center nearest you.
FREE dental cleaning and treatment (or paying a small fee), you’ll find at: http://www.ada.org/ (students with supervision of the teacher treat you).
P.S. If an office appears unkempt and dingy, think about going elsewhere.
I had a serious talk with the dentist that treated Mr Slipper socks man, because he smelled like cigarettes!
