Howdy!

I’m Walderez!

WELCOME to my life!

I am a woman of 50 some, wife and mother of a beautiful creature, I am moderately ‘OCD’ (compulsive obsession with cleanliness and organization), the middle child between two sisters, who grew up and always lived in large Brazilian metropolises.

Orphaned of father and mother at age 16. At 23 I became extremely religious, spending 14 years in missionary work full time by all over Brazil… The only states that I didn’t go to were Mato Grosso and Rio Grande do Norte.

In 85 I met and fell in love with another American missionary, and since then we have been happy, peaceful, and in harmony together,  and 99% of the days in good health.  Yeahhh !!! :-)

In 1996 we decided to sell what we had in SP and restart life in the USA… I at 44 and he at 48.

Now I live in a bucolic, historical, quiet town in Texas, close to the Gulf of Mexico, on Galveston Bay, after 15 years living in Sao Paulo.

My husband is from California, lived in Brazil for 20 years, getting there October 7, 76 (my mother’s birthday) and returning to his home country on the same day exactly 20 years later!

Talk about coincidence, fate!

Yes, because we didn’t plan anything, not one thing in this sense! We just realized it when we started the paperwork for mine and our daughter’s immigration, who was 15 at that time. Now my days are spent taking care of our house, our animals (2 Jack Russels Terriers), cooking as healthy as possible and always taking care of our beloved daughter who is already a  renowned Psychologist in the Houston community.  (found that out last week!) :-)

She just got married after 8 years of dating and courtship.

All my heart wants is that they be VERY happy… Also, in June 2009, she opened her own clinic, where now, six months later, she has all the clients she needs. That’s because she loves what she does! She sees children, teens, singles and couples.

Actually, I have no idea why God puts us in these life transitions, and why He plans it that way… But you know what?

I LOVE IT! Don’t tell anyone…

I sincerely hope you enjoy this blog, because it’ll tell you about my life of ‘more than a decade’ in this country and what things are like here.

From a spoiled child, to orphan, to secretary, missionary to the big Brazilian cities, then to a domestic life… in the middle of the ‘wilderness’ of the largest American state.

I’ll put pictures of everything that surrounds me, and that includes cowboys with their cowboy hats and super equipped vans, Malls next to cows and horses, beautiful animals and some not so cute… and many very different or even odd things to Brazilian’s, like “Watermelon Seed Spitting Party”.

I’m still learning English, but I communicate very well, and humbly say, that many praise my effort and ‘lack of shyness’, so to speak…

For me, we’re all are equal, and nobody is better or worse than I am, so perhaps that’s why I am not afraid to get into any conversation with strangers.  Occasionally I’m embarrassed about not knowing a word, but it soon goes away… ;-)

Now some pictures to rest your eyes from so much reading.
